Harry Hill pens a new children's book

How To Be Silly Every Day Of The Year

Harry Hill is writing a new children’s book, entitled How To Be Silly Every Day Of The Year.

Publishers Walker Books say the title – to be released in autumn 2024 – ‘features a whole host of entertaining activities, crafts and hilarious ideas which children can dip into and discover throughout the year’.

Ideas in the book include drawing a moustache on a potato, putting stick-on eyes on a post box and walking backwards for the day,

Hill, who is also illustrating the book, said: ‘Life can be serious and I want to provide some joy and light when children might need an antidote, so I’m thrilled to be announcing this new book – a whole year of silliness.

‘Every day something silly to do. Throw down that smartphone and join in the fun. I’m bringing silly back.’

Walkers’ publishing director, Denise Johnstone-Burt added: ‘I laughed out loud when I first read Harry’s hilarious text matched with his brilliant illustrations and knew instantly that this was the perfect book for children today.

‘Full of utterly silly things to do, Harry’s truly original take on the world will remind them how to have fun and forget their cares, not just once but every single day of the year.'

She secured world rights to the book from Julia Churchill at AM Heath Literary Agency.

As well as his TV credits, including Harry Hill's TV Burp and the presenter of Channel 4's Junior Bake Off, the comedian has written several best-selling joke books and, the popular children's series Matt Millz, about an aspiring child stand-up.

He is also an artist and has shown his work at the Royal Academy.
