Harry Hill to explore the British sense of humour

Part of a six-part series for Sky History

Harry Hill is to look at British obsessions – including our pride in our sense of humour – in a new series for Sky History.

The comic is making a six-part series for the broadcaster, which will also look at the class system, the weather, pets, drinking and the Second World War.

Alexei Sayle, Reginald D Hunter and Henning Wehn are also taking part in the show, according to the British Comedy Guide, which broke the news.

Hill said: ‘We in this country are so proud and pleased with our sense of humour, for some reason we see it as another thing we’ve got over the rest of the world. Where did that come from?! I’ve had so much fun talking to the experts and trying to find out... I have answers - and they’ll surprise you!’

The series is expected to air next year.

Harry Hill is one of the comedians coming to the Chortle Comedy Book Festival at the British Library and 2Northdown in London on November 26 to 28. Others include Lucy Beaumont, Tim Key, Isy Suttie, The QI Elves and Geoff Norcott. Full details at comedybookfest.com.
