Susan Calman turns the tables in Strictly

Comic takes the lead in Wonder Woman samba

As she promised, Susan Calman upended convention by taking the lead in her Strictly Come Dancing performance tonight.

The comic led her dance partner Kevin Clifton on the dancefloor in a samba set to the Wonder Woman theme - with Calman playing the superheroine.

Host Tess Daly said: 'I have never seen it done that way before!'

After the dance, Calman planted a kiss on the cheek of  Craig Revel Horwood, leaving him with a lipstick mark.

He said‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like that! I thought the routine in itself was a lot of fun for everyone at home, but you do need to have bounce in this, and that was something that was missing. Something to work on if you get to the final.’

Bruno Tolioni told her: 'He’s wearing the pants but you were there on top of him. This is a woman who knows what she wants - get me my whip!'

Darcey Bussell said it was '100 per cent performance'  but questioned Calman's technical skills, a common theme of the series so far.

But head judge Shirley Ballas saw some dancing skills, as well as praising her commitment to the performance.

The pair scored 20 out of 40 for their efforts on the show's 'movie night, placing them tenth in the leader board.
