Four new episodes this summer

Radio 4 has commissioned a second series of The Absolutely Radio Show.

Pete Baikie, Morwenna Banks, Moray Hunter, Gordon Kennedy and John Sparkes will all be returning for the new series, which will feature sketches from Absolutely characters such as Frank Hovis, Little Girl, Stoneybridge and Calum Gilhooley.

Originally a TV series, which ran on Channel 4 for four series between 1989 and 1993, the show was revived for the radio in September 2015.

The new series of four half-hour episodes is due to air from June and will be recorded at at the Oran Mor venue in Glasgow on February 22 and March 22. See our free tickets page to be in the studio audience.

The Absolutely Radio Show is a co-production between Absolutely Productions and producer Gus Beattie’s new indie, Gusman Productions.

Beattie said: ‘The Absolutely team and their amazing sketch creations are simply a joy to work with, and I can’t wait for the Oran Mor recordings, which are always incredible nights.
