Votes have now opened for the People’s Choice award for the Brighton leg of the Chortle Student Comedy award.

The heat was won by Michael Odewale, a third year history and politics student at the University of Greenwich and regular on the London open mic circuit.

Now you can choose which of the other acts will go forward to a second vote to fill the two People’s Choice places in the semi-finals. Polls close at 10pm on Sunday.


The last vote, for the Oxford heat, was  won by Yaseen Kader, we can announce today.

Meanwhile, Rachel Slater, who is studying creative writing at Liverpool John Moores University, triumphed in a very strong heat in Manchester on Wednesday. The next heat is at Cardiff University student union on Monday.
