Steve Pemberton drops hints

Steve Pemberton has given the first hint of what the next series of Inside No 9 has in store.

Professor Branestawm He revealed that 'one's set in an art gallery, one's set in a restaurant' and that as expected the 2016 series will encapsulate 'a variety of styles'.

'Some are lighter, some are darker, some funnier, some more twisted,' he said. 'The burden now is so heavy after the first two series because of how they were received.

'But they are a total joy to do because each week you can be very creative with what is half an hour of TV comedy, drama, thriller. You can throw loads of different things at it, so I love the challenge of that.

'To think that it's gone from your brain through this collaboration that you do and ultimately out to the viewing public where it's been so well-received, that makes me really proud.'

Filming has begun on the episodes, and earlier this week, co-creator Reece Shearsmith tweeted an image of the clapperboard, showing that Spanish-born director Guillem Morales was on board again. He previously helmed the episodes entitled La Couchette and The 12 Days of Christine.

Pemberton also confirmed that the much-reported League Of Gentleman reunion could be on the cards.

'We're going to talk about it,' he said from the set of Professor Branestawm Returns, where he plays a rival to Harry Hill's title character.

'As it gets closer to being a 20 year anniversary, wherever you take it as coming from, we'll want to mark that in some way,' he added.

'I think there's still an appetite for it, people still remember it, people still talk about it and we're all still great mates we don't want to rush it, we want get it right

'I don't know what we'll do to be honest, it'll be a case of getting the four of us together in a room and that's hard enough.'

He said he and Shearsmith met with Mark Gatiss recently, adding: 'We had a really nice evening and thought, "Let's do it!" But it could be a couple of years off yet.'
