Comedy fans dislike Peter Kay even more than Jim Davidson.

The Phoenix Nights star has topped a poll of over-rated comics ahead of the former Generation Game host.

Eddie Izzard came third in the list, compiled by Chortle readers, followed by Harry Hill, Graham Norton and Roy 'Chubby' Brown.

And, in a reversal of BBC2's hunt for the best British sitcom, visitors to the site voted Only Fools And Horses the most over-rated comedy on TV.

Second was The Office, proving that even the most acclaimed sitcom of recent times has its detractors.
