Biography

Left home at 14, then lived rough until joining the merchant navy among various other jobs. Got into the working men's clubs in the 50s, first as a drummer, then evolved a comedy act.

He appeared on Opportunity Knocks in the 70s and came fourth. He then decided to 'go blue' and became one of the most foul-mouthed comics on his circuit.

His act causes offence to many, but has built up a dedicated following, even though the nature of his material has kept him off TV. Sales of his videos and audio tapes are phenomenal.

Unfunny, hopelessly out of date and too sad to be offensive any longer.

S, August 2011

It was as though he didn't want be at the Armadillo Glasgow . He had a few one liners that was funny. But that was about it. He got heckled a couple of times and ended up walking off stage after 4 mins. Not the chubby I know! Total waste of money in everyones eyes that went. Will only perform for DVDs so he is a con. will never buy any of his dvds again.

Tommy Walters, December 2010

Like Al Murray, Jim Davidson, and Bernard Manning (thankfully six-feet below), Brown is just another racist who uses comedy as a medium to propound insidious views.

Ha Ha, October 2010

A dinosaur. His take on immigrants is nothing short of racist. I expect some fool to come along and accuse me of having no sense of humour but I would remind those people that comedy is subjective and if I don't like Brown, that is my choice

Riera, May 2010

Couldn't agree more with these comments. The dude is absolutely fantastic, can't get enough of his jokes. Fantastic. A credit to comedy

Martin L K, April 2010

The greatest comedian ever and unlike most comedians he never uses the same jokes every night, just fantastic

Scott Needham, December 2009

Roy chubby brown is great. His really funny. And i think he should be shown on tv. His one of the best.

Kerryann, September 2009
