Beaconsfield: The Musical

Beaconsfield: The Musical

Show type: Melbourne 2009

The freshly renamed Beaconsfield: a musical in no particular key is a savage look at the media circus surrounding the 2006 mine disaster. Brandt, Todd, Eddie, Naomi, Mel, Carleton, Koshie and even Bill Shorten star in what can only be described as the feel-good pisstake of the year!

Beaconsfield: a musical in no particular key is a little bit Disney, a little bit Webber, and whole lot of Macquarie Bank. It's the story of the 2006 Beaconsfield mine disaster in a 50 minute musical. It's scathing, silly and entirely patchy.

Staring Kate McLennan, Robbie McGregor, Toby Truslove, Amanda Buckley, Dan Ilic. Composed by Nigel Ubrihien

Beaconsfield: The Musical

It’s pretty much its own sub-genre of comedy now; take an unlikely subject, shove ‘The Musical’ after it, and hey presto, instant show.
