John Gavin’s wife entered him into the 2008 So You Think You're Funny? competition for stand-up newcomers – and within the first month of his comedy career found himself at the finals at the Edinburgh Fringe.

A little over a year later, he scooped the Scottish Comedian Of The Year 2009 title.
