Lou Chawner – Original Review

Review by Steve Bennett

As the number of new comics grows and grows, you really need something special to stand out from the crowd. And that is something so obviously missing in Lou Chawner.

The height of his inspiration is to think the late Magnus Magnusson’s catchphrase ‘I’ve started so I’ve finished’ could apply to sex; he rewrites the ‘you are what you eat’ gag most commonly associated with Roy Chubby Brown, then spends a while imitating the phoney West Indian accents teenager tend to adopt.

It’s over-familiar, and not especially funny, bringing nothing of value to the comedy table.
