Review by Steve Bennett

This four-strong American sketch team are certainly odd.

They perform their entire show (well, save for one Star Trek sketch) in irritating clown suits and retire to their 'comedy pod' when not on stage.

Deadpan and surreal, they stretch their strange, offbeat concepts into ridiculous and deliberately meaningless scenes.

And, although initially amusing, it quickly left me cold, because this sort of bemusing, disjointed comedy simply didn't connect with anything I could relate to.

That is obviously the point, but there were simply not enough hooks to encourage me to buy into their peculiar brand of humour. Once the spell was broken, there was no going back.

I was clearly in the minority, as much of the American-dominated audience enjoyed every minute, greeting each new non-sequiteur with huge gales of laughter.

And the performances are all very slick and well done, but the bottom line is that I just didn't get the joke. Sorry.
