comedyIan Fletcher, the BBC's head of values as seen on the documentary W1A, has recorded a new speech from his home executive office.

His comments come by way of introduction to a new recording of the series' theme tune – Las Vegas by Laurie Johnson and previously used on Animal Magic – as recorded by the BBC Concert Orchestra in lockdown.

He says the recording is a reminder that 'no matter how bleak things may seem just at the moment, there is still a life beyond podcasts.'

Fletcher bears an uncanny resemblance to Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville sporting an unfamiliar short haircut, and the script could almost have been penned by comedy writer John Morton.

Last week Bonneville and some of the rest of the W1A became involved in a Twitter thread that kept the show's spirit alive after genuine BBC journalist Tom Hourigan shared a peculiar question he'd been asked in a staff survey:
