'Brandish a better side of humanity'

The week's best live comedy

It's a relatively quiet week as the comedy world recovers from the Edinburgh Fringe... but here are a few suggestions:

Wednesday August 28

GLASGOW: After a one-off at the Edinburgh Fringe, Parks and Recreation star, and keen carpenter, Nick Offerman kicks off a four-night tour of the UK at the O2 Academy. However, the fact that all the press tickets for the Edinburgh date were withdrawn just hours before last night's gig is not exactly a vote of confidence in the show. Offerman says it will be 'an evening of deliberative talking and light dance that will compel you to chuckle whilst enjoining you to brandish a better side of humanity than the one which we have grown accustomed.' He's in Leeds, Manchester and London over the next three nights.

LONDON: Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe, Aboriginal Comedy All-Stars Andy Saunders, Steph Tisdell and Kevin Kropinyeri offer a glimpse of life as an Indigenous Australian in this three-handed stand-up show which runs at the Soho Theatre until Saturday.

MANCHESTER: South African comic Kevin Fraser, who began his career as a DJ known as Spindoctor, plays the Frog And Bucket as part of his international tour.

Thursday August 29

LONDON: There's mind-expanding comedy from stand-up and sometime Bugle podcast co-host Alice Fraser as she brings her 2015 show Savage to the Museum Of Comedy. Review.
