He is the Law Man in Channel 4 project

Nick Mohammed is piloting a dark, crime thriller comedy for Channel 4, Chortle can reveal.

The comedian stars as a lawyer in Law Man, which has been written by Céin McGillicuddy and Andy Kinnear – co-creators of the BBC Three comedies Top Coppers and Sexy Murder.

Mohammed also played an incompetent lawyer in the latter, a true crime spoof headed by Rich Fulcher.

Detectorists' Aimee-Ffion Edwards co-stars in the Law Man pilot, shot in January in London but not intended for broadcast.

The cast also includes Motherland's Phillippa Dunne and The Full Monty's Mark Addy.

Law Man is also directed by McGillicuddy and produced by Bertie Peek for Roughcut Television, which also made Sexy Murder. Alex Smith and Ash Atalla are  the executive producers.

Mohammed shot a Channel 4 chat show parody pilot in February as his alter-ego Mr Swallow. And he is currently writing the GCHQ sitcom Intelligence for Sky One, which he will shoot later this year alongside Friends star David Schwimmer

Increasingly in demand for voicing animations, Mohammed will be following up his role as Piglet in last year's Christopher Robin by playing the white mouse in next year's all-star cast for The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, featuring Robert Downey Jr. in the title role.
