Joe Pasquale to play Frank Spencer

As Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em becomes a stage play

Some Mothers Do 'Ave ‘Em is to be turned into a stage play – with Joe Pasquale playing Frank Spencer.

The role was originally made famous by Michael Crawford in the BBC One sitcom which ran for three series from 1973 to 1978.

Sarah Earnshaw, who played the  Lady of the Lake in the Spamalot   tour, will play Frank’s long-suffering wife Betty – despite being 22 years younger than the 56-year-old comedian.

Susie Blake, based known for her work with Victoria Wood, will play his disapproving mother-in-law, Mrs Fisher.

The stage adaptation has been written by Guy Unsworth, who will also be directing, based on the original TV series by Raymond  Allen.

It will go on tour from February next year, starting at Swindon’s Wyvern theatre and visiting the Buxton Opera House;  New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth; the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe; His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen; Devonshire Park in Eastbourne, Orchard Theatre in Dartford; The Wolverhampton Grad; Plymouth Theatre Royal and Hull New Theatre and finishing at the Southend  Palace Theatre on June 30.

The full schedule is on the official website.
