Who made Brigstocke king?

Marcus to star in Spamalot tour

Marcus Brigstocke is to play King Arthur in the touring production of Monty Python’s Spamalot.

The Now Showcomic, who has just returned from curating the Altitude comedy festival in the French Alps, will star alongside Jodie Prenger, the winner of BBC reality TV series I'd Do Anything.

The tour is currently due to run until January 2011, with further dates expected to be announced later.

Eric Idle, who ‘lovingly ripped off’ the musical from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will provide the voice of God.

The musical was originally due to go on tour in April last year, after closing in the West End after two and a half years, but it was cancelled due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’. A new producer, Ambassador Theatre Group, is now staging the tour.
