Guest role for Gavin & Stacey star

James Corden is to appear in the new series of Doctor Who, it has been reported.

The BBC had been trying to keep its guest stars under wraps, but Gavin & Stacey comic apparently let the cat out of the bag when a fan spotted him learning lines on a train to Cardiff, where Doctor Who is filmed.

The new BBC One series, which stars Matt Smith as the 11th Time Lord, starts at Easter. Peter Kay, Catherine Tate and Lee Evans have all previously appeared on the show.
