Boyle lands C4 show

Mixing stand-up and sketches

Frankie Boyle is set for his own Channel 4 show, with a pilot episode planned for later this year.

A 30-minute show mixing sketches and stand-up and will be filmed in front of a live studio audience will be made by Glasgow-based company The Comedy Unit.

The programme is likely to be broadcast on Channel 4 to gauge audience reaction.

The station’s commissioning editor Shane Allen told trade magazine Broadcast: ‘Frankie’s a fearlessly inventive comic and no one can carve a joke to the bone like he does. It’s very timely for him to do his own show.’
