'Prank' in Trafalgar Square

Russell Brand has been attacked as he filmed his new movie, with a passer-by grabbing him by the throat and pushing him underwater.

The comic was playing out-of-control rock star drunkenly dancing in the fountains at Trafalgar Square, when the man shoved him into the water.

A witness told The Sun: ‘The bloke used a bit of force. Brand was completely underwater. I expect he will have some bruises.’

Security guards and police raced to the scene, but Brand will not press charges, the paper reported, describing the incident as a 'prank'.

Brand spent half an hour recovering before returning to film more scenes for Get Him To The Greek, the follow-up to Forgetting Sarah Marshall where he again plays Aldous Snow.
