Simpsons voice for satnavs

Homer Simpson could help guide you home, now his voice is available on satnavs.

Actor Dan Castellaneta, who plays Homer in the TV series, has recorded directions for the TomTom system, whose users can download his voice for £7.95.

Customised phrases include, ‘Take the third right. We might find an ice cream truck! Mmm . . . ice cream,’ or, ‘Whoo-hoo! You have reached your destination, and you can hold your head up high because you are a genius!’

TomTom president Jocelyn Vigreux said: ‘With Homer Simpson’s voice helping them to navigate their trip, TomTom customers will not only travel safely and with less stress, but will also be amused along the way.”

Mr. T and John Cleese have previously provided voice-overs for the satnavs.
