Toronto gets a British comedy gala

John Cleese is to host a British comedy gala at the Toronto’s new Just For Laughs comedy festival.Stand-ups Jimmy Carr, Mark Watson, Gina Yashere and Ross Noble will all take part in the event, a spin-off from the well-established Montreal festival.
Danny Bhoy will also be appearing in Toronto, with his own one-man show running for five nights from July 14.
The festival, which runs from July 15 to 19, also features Sarah Silverman, Arj Barker, Louis CK and a Nasty Show starring Patrice O’Neal and Jason Rouse, among others.
The British gala takes place on July 18, four days before a similar event at the high-profile Montreal festival.
