New comedy CDs released

A batch of new comedy CDs have been released today by the specialist Laughing Stock label.

Mark Steel, John Bird and John Fortune, Scott Capurro and Hattie Hayridge are among those with new titles out. And the CD of Eddie Izzard’s last Sexie tour will follow next Monday.

The releases are:

John Bird & John Fortune: The Long Johns Vol 4

Satirical improvisation from last year’s Bremner Bird & Fortune TV series, with mock interviews on subjects including merchant banking, terrorism, Islam and the pension crisis. This is their first new release since 1998. BUY

Hattie Hayridge: Random Abstract Memory

Already published as a book, this is Red Dwarf’s Hattie Hayridge telling her story as a stand-up comic in the very early years of alternative comedy. BUY

The Reduced Shakespeare Company Radio Show

The Reduced Shakespeare Co’s ‘The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) is currently  the longest running comedy in London’s West This triple CD is a radio production of that show in six half hour episodes. BUY

Mark Steel: The Lectures Vol. 2

A double CD of the Left-wing  comic’s Radio 4 series features four  monologues on the inspirational lives of Lord Byron, Aristotle, Billie Holiday and Che Guevara. BUY

Scott Capurro: Live

The San-Francisco based based gay comic, an Edinburgh Fringe favourite, recorded this controversial stand-up set at The Monday Club in London earlier this year. BUY

Mitch Benn: Too Late To Cancel

A new collection of songs, many written for Radio 4’s The Now Show abnd Crimes Against Music,  with his band The Distractions (Tash Baylis and Kirsty Newton). BUY

Eddie Izzard: Sexie
