Ronnie's TV comeback

Corbett poised for sitcom return

Ronnie Corbett is poised to return to TV in a new sitcom written by Rob Brydon.

The 72-year-old comic is set to play a resident of an old folks' home, with the Marion and Geoff star as the manager.

Brydon started working with Little Britain's David Walliams on the script, titled Home, last month.

He told The Observer: "We are only in the early stages of Home, but we've already had sessions improvising these characters and David has had me in hysterics. He made me feel so unfunny "

In another interview, Brydon said: "Ronnie's a personal hero of mine and, as soon as we've finished the script, we will send one off to him. As long as he likes what he sees, it should all go ahead next year.''

Corbett said: "I've been doing odds and sods on television, but nothing major, so this would be very nice if it works out.''
