Cyderdelic land BBC deal

Six-part series for spoof protesters

Spoof anti-globalisation warriors Cyderdelic have landed their own BBC3 series.

The digital channel has commissioned a six-part series from the team, who were first spotted at the Edinburgh festival in 2000.

Filming for Cyderdelic: The Revolution Will Be Televised is already under way, and the show will air in November.

It's just the latest TV vehicle for comedian Marc Wootton, who will also appear in a new E4 series, The Pilot Show, from next month.

The show tricks minor celebrities into appearing in pilots for a series of bizarre, fictitious shows.

Wooton already appears on the BBC3 comedy series Resistance, and his Channel 4 show My New Best Friend launched on Friday after six months of delays in finding a place in the schedules.

Cyderdelic also stars Liam Woodman and Barry Castagnola as the well-meaning but inept protesters who try to "overthrow capitalism and replace it with something nicer".
