The hunt is on...

Entries open for C4's talent contest

Channel 4 has launched its annual So You Think You're Funny? talent hunt.

Previous winners of the competition, now in its 16th year, include Peter Kay, Dylan Moran, Rhona Cameron, Phil Kay, Lee Mack and Tommy Tiernan.

Now entrants are being invited for this year's competition, which is run in conjunction with Edinburgh's Gilded Balloon.

As usual, heats will be held around the country from May to find 60 semi-finalists to take part in a series of heats at the Edinburgh Festival.

The ultimate winner receives £2,000, with two runners-up getting £1,000 and £750.

The rules are that entrants must not have been performing comedy, either paid or unpaid, before September 2002, and that they must have eight minutes of their own material.
