Kumars At No. 1

International Emmy for chat spoof

The Kumars At Number 42 has won an international Emmy.

The spoof chat show shares the award in the Popular Arts category with the Channel 4 documentary Faking It.

Britain won four of the ten awards announced in Los Angeles last night

The BBC also won best news coverage of the fall of Kabul, and the childrens' award for Stig of the Dump.

Though awarded by the LA-based International Academy of TV Arts And Sciences, few of the winners are ever screened in the US.

However, NBC is remaking the Kumars as The Ortegas, based around a Mexican family. Cheech Marin, of Cheech and Chong, will play the patriarch of the family.
