Seeing as we seem to be in this for the long haul!

Chortle is now listing online comedy events across the UK.

As live gigs are likely to be suspended for some time yet, we have added an ‘online’ section to our usual comprehensive listings of the UK comedy scene – accessed via the blue panel on every page.

Within this section, which is searchable by date, we will give details of all live or ‘as live’ broadcasts on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook Live or Twitch – whether it be archive footage or comedians performing live from their homes.

We will be relying on venues and promoters to add their own listings, as our resources are currently stretched, Like everyone in the comedy world, our income evaporated overnight. 

In light of that, we are waiving our usual ban on including links in events’ descriptions to help everyone promote their virtual event as best they can – and help comedy fans find the shows that interest them.

However, we would also encourage promoters and venues which CAN afford the £5 fee to upgrade to a premium listing, which adds a photograph and a more prominent ‘book now’ link. The fee will help keep Chortle going through these times.

To add a listing, use the link within the blue box and input ‘Online’ when asked for the venue. Then add a line-up of comedians to say who is playing. 

You will also be able to add a title, time and date, and pricing for each event, and a description field to include the link.

Please add each event individually with specific line-ups rather than putting in a generic listing that covers several links.

And if you are looking for shows to watch, simply select ‘online’ and the relevant date from the pulldown menus.
