Hailing from the small Australian town of Wonthaggi, Marcus came to the 2003 Edinburgh festival on the back of the Raw new act competition run at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He returned in 2005, 2006 and 2008. He has previously worked in breakfast radio and as an actor.

He is now based in London, and in 2008 performed his his first set in Spanish in Guatemala
