Trailer for Swede Caroline

Mockumentary starring Aisling Bea and Jo Hartley

Here’s the trailer for Swede Caroline, a new mockumentary starring Aisling Bea and After Life’s Jo Hartley.

Set in the eccentric world of competitive vegetable growing, Hartley plays Caroline, whose preparations for a big contest are embroiled in scandal when  her prized marrow plants are stolen. She them  turns to two private detectives, who are then dramatically kidnapped.

The film also stars Richard Lumsden, Celyn Jones, Fay Ripley, Alice Lowe, Steve Brody, Neil Edmond and comic Mark Silcox as one of the vegetable judges.

It is the debut feature of directing duo Brook Driver – who wrote the script – and Finn Bruce, and will be screened cinemas on April 19, followed by a Sky Cinema airing later this year.

Bruce told Deadline the distribution deal was ‘especially encouraging as it’s a film with such heart and a wonderful working-class female lead, instead of more superheroes and explosions’.
