Weekend Update on King Charles, Donald Trump and Dwayne Johnson

Michael Che and Colin Jost on Saturday Night Live

The King's forthcoming visit to Kenya  was the subject of a gag on Saturday Night Live last night.

During the Weekend Update section, Michael Che joked that Charles will 'acknowledge Britain's role in the slave trade 'and unfortunately attempt to return Meghan'.

He and co-host Colin Jost also mocked Donald Trump's civil fraud trial  and the big news in the US – the election of the new Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, after weeks of Republican in-fighting.

Che noted that Johnson has  branded homophobic for supporting anti-LGBTQ legislation 'and saying homosexuality is bizarre and deviant - which are two fantastic gay clubs on the west side by the way."

Later on in the segment, Che brought up the subject of Dwayne The Rock Johnson‘s wax figure being 'too white', saying: 'The museum has attempted to darken the statue but unfortunately, it melted in the tanning bed'.
