The Baron And The Junk Dealer

Animated short from the creators of The George Lucas Talk Show

Here’s an animated short from the creators of long-running New York underground comedy night The George Lucas Talk Show.

The Baron And The Junk Dealer serves to set up an Edinburgh Fringe play of the same name  about two fugitives – a mysterious aristocrat and a paranoid junk merchant – stranded on a desolate planet, waiting to be rescued or killed.

It is described as ‘Waiting For Godot in space’, ‘True West, but in another galaxy’ or ‘Hamlet, but there's two of them, one of whom is Lear’.

The characters bear a ’suspicious resemblance’ to Baron Notluwiski Papanoida and Watto from the Star Wars universe – although audiences are assured that they need no knowledge of the franchise to enjoy the new work.

The play, written by and starring Connor Ratliff and Griffin Newman, will be at Assembly Roxy at 5.55pm, while The George Lucas Talk Show is also playing at the Fringe - at Assembly George Square at 11.35pm on Fridays.
