Georgie Carroll appears on Britain’s Got Talent

Nurse turned comedian impresses the judges

Nurse turned comedian Georgie Carroll appeared on Britain’s Got Talent last night – and impressed all four judges.

Originally from Rochdale, the 47-year-old now lives in Australia, where she has toured seven solo stand-up shows and recorded a TV comedy special called The  Gloves are Off.

On the ITV talent show she spoke about being a parent to teenage boys rather than focussing on her healthcare background – and scored four ‘yeses’ from the judges.

After her performance, Bruno Tonili said: ‘I absolutely loved it.’

And Simon Cowell said: ‘Very good. That’s the thing about a comedian, you can’t fake it. If you’re funny people laugh, if you’re not, nothing happens.
