Do Not Touch

Starring Seann Walsh as an adulterer

It might not be the best role to get away from the tabloid scandal surrounding his Strictly Come Dancing appearance, but Seann Walsh plays an adulterer in this short film.

In Do Not Touch, his character discovers to his horror that  his one-night stand is now the subject of an Tracey Emin-style art exhibition.

And when he finds out that his girlfriend has got them both tickets to the show, he decides he must destroy the artwork before it destroys his relationship.

Writer James Newman said: ‘Do Not Touch was always an episode of a sitcom for me. It’s something that I kept thinking it would be a shame that if we never made the sitcom; we’d never make that episode. But I realised in isolation that it’d work as a short film.’

And he admitted the  idea came from Emin’s Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963–1995 (1995)… a tent with the names of all the people she’s slept with stitched inside.

His brother Harrison, who co-directed the short with him, added: ‘When James first mentioned Do Not Touch to me, he already had the concept and characters mapped out.

‘We briefly discussed format and genre and developed from there creating some of my favourite moments in the film, such as the projection and montage sequence at the end.’

Do Not Touch also stars Sofia Engstrand, Alex Waterhouse and Ingrid Marsh.
