Lauren Pattison at the Melbourne Comedy Festival

On her looks, being single, and accepting the kindness of a stranger

Comic Lauren Pattison says she hates the way she's described.

She said she's either called 'cute, sweet or adorable' – adjectives more suited to babies or kittens than a grown woman – or even more unflatteringly, a 'plain scone'.

Her set was recorded at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival earlier this month for the ABC show Comedy Up Late, and has just aired down under.

Pattison also spoke about being single for the first time in her adult life at 23 – and how she became super-judgemental while surfing the dating apps – as well as sharing a story about how she wound up staying with a stranger who contacted her on the internet at the Edinburgh Fringe.
