But the Not Going Out star concedes that it's about time women spoke down to men on the show.

The exchange came as Mack, as host, read out a picture caption about the Pope's vestments. 'Is that the right word, vestments?' he asked the panel.

After they reassured him it was, Pascoe said: 'You're doing really well.'

A laughing Mack said: 'Finally! Woman patronises man on Have I Got News For You.'

In November, Brand berated an all-male panel for making light of sexual harassment claims, telling them: 'If you’re constantly being harassed, even in a small way, that wears you down.'
