Helen Mirren owns James Corden

In a rap battle on his talk show

Dame Helen Mirren owned James Corden in a rap battle on his Late, Late Show last night.

The Queen star slated the talk-show host over his weight and for being cravenly desperate for fame in the Drop The Mic section of his CBS show.

Corden went first, rapping: 'You're outdated, overrated and I'm tearing you apart. I'll knock this national treasure out of Gosforth Park.'

Mirren, 72, hit back saying: 'Poor James Corden will never be satisfied until you find a way to get attention, deep fried. This battle is fun, I'm glad that you asked. It's the only bit you didn't find in Jimmy Fallon's trash.'

The star of Teaching Mrs. Tingle also got flirty when she teased 39-year-old Corden: 'You know I taught your little Mister to tingle.'

Corden then compared Dame Helen unfavourably to the likes of Judi Dench and Meryl Streep, and pointed out she'd never been in the James Bond or Harry Potter franchises.

But she hit back with: 'You fucked up James, you desperate Tater Tot. A woman's worth isn't in credits or who says she's hot. Boy's Club bullshit, I'm done with that crap. You're welcome to this headline: Helen Mirren can rap.'

And she used some biker slang when she stood with her sisters in acting: 'Compare me to Meryl, Judi, Maggie. But Why? They're not my competition, they're my "ride or die".'

Here's the exchange.
