The comedian who lives in the Tower of London

Tomo Houghton at Chortle's Fast Fringe

Comedian Tom Houghton has spoken about living in the Tower Of London.

The stand-up lives there with his father General Sir Nick Houghton, who last year stood down as chief of the defence staff – the most senior uniformed military man in the country – and is now Constable of the Tower.

He said that although it sounds glamorous 'nobody believes me,' when he says he lives there, with a bedroom next to the room where Guy Fawkes was tortured.

'Try ordering a Domino's,' he joked.

Houghton, formerly one of the Noise Next Door sketch group, performs his Edinburgh Festival Fringe show Class Half Empty at Gilded Balloon Teviot at 5.45pm daily.
