How Bobby Mair took revenge on a heckler... ten years on

#chickenwire

comedyBobby Mair has taken brilliant revenge on a heckler – ten years after the event.

‘I don’t come round to where you work…’ might be a hack response to something shouted from the audience – but that’s exactly what he did.

A decade ago the Canadian comic was on stage in Birmingham when a man shouted ‘chicken wire’ at him, for no apparent reason.

And that turned out to be just the start of the trolling, with the guy – called Craig Stark – commenting ‘chicken wire’  to every post on Mair’s Facebook page.

The comic finally snapped and drove the 150 miles from his London home to the EE mobile phone store in Dudley, where Stark works as assistant manager.

And he posted his quest on Instagram, winning praise from fellow comics.  Thomas Green said: ‘This is incredible’; Helen Bauer said: ‘I love this so much!’ and  Kate Barron posted: ‘The unhinged nature of this is why I love you.’

But Catherine Bohart spoke for many when she said: ‘This is awesome but I need to know WHY he did it.’

And Freddy Quinne warned: ‘If this goes viral we might just see the greatest Streisand Effect of all time’ – drawing attention to something by trying to shut it down.

Indeed, Mair’s wife Harriet Kemsley responded to the video with: ‘#chickenwire’
