Jim Davidson 'heading for divorce No5'

Comic facing another marriage breakdown

comedy Jim Davidson is reportedly facing his fifth divorce.

The Sun reports that the comedian is 'gutted' that his 14-year marriage to Michelle Cotton has collapsed. He has previously said his four other divorces cost him up to £60million.

Davidson, 69, reportedly spoke about his split from Cotton, 51, on stage on Friday night in Eastleigh, Hampshire.

The show is called Not Yet Cancelled, though it seems his marriage certificate is about to be...

Davidson's first marriage was ti his childhood sweetheart Sue Walpole, tying the knot in  1971. But they split the following year as Davidson' career took off. He would later recall: 'It was just too tempting suddenly having all these available nice-looking women.'

He then wed Julie Gullick in 1981, splitting in 1986. During that marriage he paid for an orgy with 12 sex workers at a London hotel as part of a celebrity stag do, he told Piers Morgan on his talk show.

Wife No 3 was Alison Holloway, but their two-year marriage from 1987 was tainted by stories of domestic violence. In his autobiography, Davidsson wrote: 'We’re like a couple of boxers. On the first occasion,  I poked her in the eye by accident. I actually went for the mouth. The second time I gave her a shiner. I threw a bunch of keys which whacked her in the eye.'

He was then married to former Page Three girl Tracy Hilton from 1990 to 2000, when he was exposed having an affair with a co-star in his X-rated panto, Sinderella.

The comic married Cotton in 2009, and she stood by him during the Operation Yewtree investigation into alleged historic sexual assaults. After investigation, police said  they would be taking no further action over the allegations made.

When he appeared on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2018, Davidson said: 'I hope I’m with Michelle for the rest of my life, there’s no one better I’d want to spend the rest of my life with. Liz Hurley perhaps?'

Davidson has three children with Hilton and one from each of his first two marriages.

He now runs the streaming platform Ustream, featuring old-school comics. Next month he is recording a show called Proper Comedians, recording sets from the likes of Jimmy Jones, Duncan Norvelle, Bobby Davro and John Moloney for future broadcast.
