Watch his surprise appearance to perform a Cardi B cover

comedyHarry Hill made a surprise guest appearance on stage with post-punk band Black Midi last night.

The comic joined the experimental rockers on stage on the last night of their four-night residency at the Village Underground in Shoreditch, East London.

And the 58-year-old launched into a distinctive cover version of Cardi B's I Like It

Black Midi band member Cameron Picton wrote on Twitter that ‘nothing will ever top’ the appearance.

He wrote: ‘We’ve done loads of crazy prestigious stuff we’re proud of. We could perform at the Grammys and even win one, or travel back in time and play live aid or some shit but nothing- NOTHING will ever top Harry Hill coming on stage and doing a Cardi B verse with us tonight.’

Fans at the gig were equally impressed. One posted: ‘It brings me infinite pleasure to announce black midi just brought Harry Hill out’; another said it was ‘the highlight of my year’.

Black Midi – whose members also include Geordie Greep and Morgan Simpson – formed in London in 2017 and their  2019 debut studio album Schlagenheim was nominated for the Mercury Prize.
