Rugby ace Haskell's Omid life crisis...

If you’ve seen one bald, bearded comedian you’ve seen them all…

At least that’s what it seems for former England rugby ace James Haskell – who managed to muddle up Omid Djalili and Alexei Sayle in a cringe-inducing encounter.

Haskell appeared with the Anglo-Iranian comic on Celebrity Mastermind – and immediately put his foot in it.

‘The first thing I said to him was, "Man I loved you in The Mummy,",’ he told The Sun.

‘I got that right, but the next thing I said to him was, "I also loved you in The Young Ones. Quick as a flash he replied, "Yeah you've got me confused with Alexei Sayle."

‘He then turned and left me standing there like a lemon.

‘The woman who was chaperoning us had to walk off because she couldn't cope with the awkwardness.’

Despite the incident, Haskell went on to win the episode after picking the Harry Potter movies as his specialist subject. Djalili’s topic was Curb Your Enthusiasm.
