Demands of touring are blamed

Jason Byrne has split from his wife Brenda after 14 years of marriage.

The comic’s spokesman confirmed the news after it was reported by the Irish Mail on Sunday today.

Byrne – an Ireland's Got Talent judge who often talks about his wife in his act – is said to have  moved out of their North Dublin home around six months ago.

A friend of the couple said the split was ‘as amicable as it could be’ and blamed Byrne’s gruelling travel schedule, which includes spending a month a year working in Australia. 

They have two sons, aged 11 and 18.
