Jay Leno hospitalised after garage fire

Comedian suffers 'serious burns'

American comic and chat-show host Jay Leno has been hospital taken to hospital with severe burns after one of his cars suddenly burst into flames.

The 72-year-old car enthusiast said in a statement: ‘I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.’

The blaze happened in his Los Angeles garage on Sunday. He was taken to a burns centre where he is said to be in a stable condition.

The former Tonight Show host now fronts the CNBC series Jay Leno's Garage. It  has 3.4million subscribers on YouTube.
