Still Game star hosts Scottish theatre awards

Gavin Mitchell, best known as Boabby the Barman in Still Game, is to present the CATS award for Scottish theatre this weekend.

CATS - Critics Awards for Theatre – is now in its 15th year, and holds its annual ceremony in Edinburgh this weekend.

Organiser Joyce McMillan said: ‘Gavin is as much a presence on the stage as the TV. He has appeared in glittering productions ranging from panto to Pricilla Queen of the Desert. We are sure he will feel right at home in the glittering CATS ceremony.’

Mitchell follows in the footsteps of comedians Karen Dunbar and Sanjeev Kohli, who previously presented the awards.

The ceremony takes place at the Festival Theatre on Sunday
