Troy Hawke to tour with The Greeters Guild

'Why gas a well-dressed man being nice to people caused such a kerfuffle’'

Troy Hawke is to embark on a four-month tour of the UK next year.

The Greeters Guild will chart how the 1930s throwback became viral star by setting himself as an unofficial welcoming party at various stores and business.

It started at TK Maxx in Macclesfield last year and has gone on to post himself outside the BBC, a Lionesses’ World Cup game, the TRIC celebrity awards ceremony, a late-night Amsterdam coffee shop and Home Depot in the US.

Along the way, the alter-ego of comic Milo McCabe has confused Premiership footballers, been threatened by heavyweight boxers, and improved the vocabulary of Formula 1 legends.

The publicity for The Greeters Guild says that Troy will examine ’his unlikely genesis and exactly why a well-dressed man simply being nice to people has caused such a kerfuffle’.

His tour kicks off at Bath Komedia on February 22 and runs until June 29.  Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday.
