Publisher shelves plans for his guide to recovery

Russell Brand’s new book has been shelved following the  allegations of rape and sexual assault made against him this weekend.

The comic had written a new title about overcoming addictions entitled Recovery: The Workbook, that was due to be published this December.

However, this has now been put on hold, publishers Bluebird have said.

A statement from the Pan Macmillan imprint to trade website Deadline said: ‘These are very serious allegations and in the light of them, Bluebird has taken the decision to pause all future publishing with Russell Brand.’

Brand’s publishing career started with his 2007 autobiography, My Booky Wook, and he previously released Recovery: Freedom from our Addictions with Bluebird.

The comedian has firmly denied allegations made by four women to Dispatches and the Sunday Times this weekend. He suggests the claims have been made to discredit him as he challenges the mainstream media narrative to his 6.6million YouTube subscribers and 11million followers on X, formerly Twitter.
