Katherine Ryan and partner Bobby Kootstra are to appear on the next series of Celebrity Gogglebox.

The Canadian comedian reconnected with her teenage sweetheart after two decades  while she was filming Who Do You Think You Are? in 2018 – and they tied the knot the following year. 

Ryan told The Sun: ‘It’s usually just the dogs who get to see us watch TV, so we’re excited to welcome viewers into our home as we decompress in our favourite spot — the sofa. We’ve been huge Gogglebox fans for years and we are thrilled to be taking part.’

Also taking part in the new Channel 4 series when it returns on June 16 are  Zoe Ball, Johnny Ball and Woody Cook, Denise Van Outen and Duncan James, plus Shaun Ryder and Bez.

Ryan and Kootstra  have two children: Fred, who celebrates his second birthday this month and six-month old Fenna Grace. The comic  also has a 13-year-old daughter, Violet, from a previous relationship.
