Harry Hill's video mishap show dropped after 33 years

ITV has dropped You’ve Been Framed  after 33 years.

Harry Hill has presented the compilation of video mishaps for the last 18 years, fronting 341 of the 701 episodes made.

But the broadcaster is no longer seeking contributions, and a TV source told Chortle there are no plans for any more episodes, at least for this year.

And another insider told The Sun that the cancellation of the show – first launched by Jeremy Beadle in 1990  –  ‘is a sad sign of the times’.

They said: ‘It’s a different world to Jeremy Beadle’s heyday. Why would viewers tune in to a show featuring funny videos when they could see the same sort of thing on the internet Silly clips are hugely popular on social media and the right video can go viral.’

Hill previously spoke of the universal appeal of the show, saying:  ‘It’s a primeval thing, people falling over. It’s just funny…. In 200 yeas people will be laughing about people falling over.’

Just not on You’ve Been Framed.
