Paul Whitehouse returns to Only Fools And Horses musical

Comic is back as Grandad

Paul Whitehouse is to return to the cast of the Only Fools and Horses  musical next year.

The comic will again take the role of Grandad in the West End production from January 9, taking over from Les Dennis.

The news has been announced as the the show extends its run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for a further three months until April 29.

Whitehouse wrote the musical with Jim Sullivan, son of the sitcom’s creator John Sullivan, and incorporating some of his original scripts into a show that also boasts 20 songs.

He said: ‘I can't wait to be back in Grandad’s armchair next year after a bit of a break - many thanks to Les Dennis who's been keeping it warm for me.

‘It's incredible to still be playing to packed houses week in, week out and I'm thrilled that the show is extending the run yet again. Mange tout!’

Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, the show has been seen by more than 700,000 people since it opened in February 2019.

It also stars Tom Bennett as Del Boy and Ryan Hutton as Rodney with Ashleigh Gray as Raquel; Nicola Munns as Marlene and Cassandra; Craig Berry as Boycie; Lee VG as Trigger; Adrian Irvine as Denzil; Danny Bayne as Mickey Pearce and Danny Driscoll; Andrew Bryant as Mike The Barman and Tony Driscoll.
